We are family and friends of the late Mitchell Powell who have come together to set up a foundation to continue his legacy of charitable work.
The Mitchell Powell Foundation was set up in April 2022 with the aim to continue the legacy of Mitch’s charity work.
To help the families of young people who are faced with life-changing health conditions and to provide support to grieving families.
Mitchell was awarded the British Heart Foundation’s ‘Charity Fundraiser of the Year’ award in 2013.
Mitchell worked tirelessly to support, fundraise and signpost a variety of charities whilst living with a congenital heart condition.
We intend to continue to raise awareness and support the various charities that Mitchell was passionate about. Together we will continue the legacy of his charity work and support to local people.
Mitchell Powell from waun wen, Swansea, was born with a heart condition and had more than 20 operations throughout his life – including open heart surgery at the age of five. He tragically passed away while undergoing double valve heart surgery in 2021.

Mitchell raised tens of thousands of pounds during his life even though he was battling his own heart condition. He would always find a way to help others and would do everything he could to support local people going through hard times.
Mitchell loved football and despite not being able to play himself he constantly supported his favourite teams and helped his local team.
