Mitchell loved football and despite not being able to play himself due to his heart condition, he constantly supported his favourite teams and volunteered to help his local team, Malsters FC.

Thousands of tributes were paid after Mitchell’s passing and Masters Sports AFC paid tribute to their ‘Mr Sec’ on social media.

“An absolute massive part of our club and a man who’s run a team, was always there to help out and then become secretary.
A man who will be massively missed by everyone at our club. Rest easy Mr.Sec”.

Mitchell made such an impact with the local club as secretary and helped grow the opportunities for local children to play football.

Mitchell also loved Swansea City FC. He would often visit home and away matches with his sister Kirsty and other members of his family. He got to know many members of staff and players during his life and the Championship club dedicated their win over Norwich City to his days after he passed away.
